The Cougar Spirit Cord is more than just a graduation cord; it symbolizes your pride and commitment to giving back. As a graduating student, you have the chance to leave your mark on the UH community and help create meaningful opportunities for future Cougars.
Demonstrate your Cougar spirit by making a minimum donation of $10 or a contribution that reflects your class year, such as $20.26. In return, you will receive a Spirit Cord to wear during Convocation, in your graduation photographs and at University commencement ceremonies.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE BACK?
This year, all Spirit Cord donations will be directed toward the Cougar Experience Scholarship.
The Cougar Experience Scholarship transforms lives by enabling freshmen to live on campus and fully immerse themselves in University life. This award connects students to at least two campus organizations or jobs, fostering a sense of belonging, encouraging academic success and helping them develop skills that last a lifetime. Your donation makes this transformative experience possible for future generations of Cougars!
WHY DOES GIVING MATTER?
Think back on your time at UH. Many of your favorite memories were made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of the University. Their support has enriched the Cougar experience for countless students, whether it’s late-night study sessions at the MD Anderson Library, gathering with classmates at the Student Center or being part of a spirited game day crowd.
Your gift strengthens UH by funding scholarships, advancing programs and enhancing campus facilities. Giving back not only impacts the reputation of UH, it strengthens the value of your degree and ensures that future Cougars can enjoy all the opportunities that make UH extraordinary.
HOW DO I GET MY CORD?
Once you have made your donation, you will receive information about when and where to pick up your cord. Celebrate your graduation with pride and show the world what it means to be a Cougar!
